Once the document has been published to the eLC course question library uing the Respondus software, the following tutorial will guide you through the steps on how to create a randomized quiz using the question library.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1- Locate the quiz

Select quizzes from the tools drop down menu in the navigation bar

Step 2- Select the quiz

Click on the quiz to which you want to add the questions

Step 3- Select Add/Edit Questions

Select "Add/Edit Questions"

Step 4- Select the purple folder

Click on the purple folder.

Step 5- Enter questions per attempt

In the Questions per attempt, put the number of total questions for the exam. So, if you have a total of 50 questions, be sure to insert 50 in the box. Next, select the check-mark box (located by the delete icon button) so that all questions are selected (to make sure, always change the display option at the bottom right to display 100 questions, that way you know they are all selected). Next, select the save button and then select done editing questions.

Step 6- Set questions per page

After you select "done editing questions", the following screen with the "Q1. Random Question" should display with all the questions. Here, is where you can adjust how many questions appear per page while the student is taking the quiz. So, in the "questions per page" box, enter "1" if you only want one question to appear at a time while the student is taking the quiz.
